Other information
- There is no subscription (while we don't pay for a venue)
- You don't have to come to every meeting
- You don't have to read anything (though we hope you will)
- We are a very social group!
The revised 'agenda' is:
- Gathering and welcome, starting very soon after 7:30 (punctuality appreciated!).
- Most people read something (current writing project, or perhaps based on the 'assignment'), followed by discussion about the reading, and interesting points it raises.
- Comfort break
- More readings and discussion, including writing-
related items and news.

West Oxfordshire Writers
WOW! (West Oxfordshire Writers) is a friendly and supportive writer's group, which meets twice a month in Chipping Norton.
Our first meeting took place on 18th February 2010. We spent some time discussing what we wanted from the group, and how it should be run. The most important principles are:
- Provide motivation and encouragement
- Guarantee the group and meetings as a ‘safe place’
- Be flexible in our approach to everything -
there is always an opt- out - Provide constructive criticism when requested
- Have a mix of formal and informal activities
- Readings -
with or without copies handed round, or handed out at a previous meeting - Have themed tasks (which are optional)
- Share information about competitions, publishers, agents etc.
- Achieve decisions by negotiation
- Share the task of being the ‘Meeting Leader’ -
completely voluntary
